Chain Sling Repair
A damaged chain sling doesn't have to mean a new chain sling. Amick repairs welded and mechanical chain sling assemblies from any manufacturer — not just slings purchased from Amick. Common repairs include replacement of stretched, bent, twisted, or cracked links, worn or damaged hooks and fittings, and welded coupling links.
What sets Amick's chain sling repair apart is precision heat treating. Rather than batch treating the entire assembly — which reprocesses undamaged components and limits how many times a sling can be repaired — Amick treats individual welds and links only. This preserves the integrity of undamaged components and enables unlimited repairs over the sling's service life. Every repaired chain sling is 2:1 proof tested and returned to service in compliance with ASME B30.9.
Lifting Clamp Repair
Lifting clamps are mechanical devices with wear-critical components — cam surfaces, jaw teeth, springs, pivot pins, and locking mechanisms all degrade with use. A clamp that can't apply its full rated clamping force is a clamp that can drop a load. Amick services thousands of lifting clamps annually, performing cam and jaw surface restoration, spring replacement, pivot pin and bushing replacement, structural repair, and complete load testing to verify rated capacity after repair.
Amick services clamps from all manufacturers, including both horizontal and vertical plate clamps, with in-shop and on-site repair options available to minimize downtime.
Hoist Repair
Amick is an Authorized Repair Center for both Harrington and CM (Columbus McKinnon) hoists — two of the most widely used hoist brands in the industry. As an authorized center, Amick has direct access to genuine OEM parts, manufacturer technical support, and the factory training required to perform warranty-covered repairs to factory specifications.
Beyond Harrington and CM, Amick services hoists from all major manufacturers — electric chain hoists, wire rope hoists, manual hand chain hoists, and lever hoists. Common repairs include motor replacement, brake adjustment and replacement, load chain replacement, limit switch repair, contactor replacement, gearbox service, and complete rebuilds. Every hoist involving load suspension components is load tested per ASME B30.16 before returning to service. In-shop and on-site options available.
Wire Mesh Sling Repair
Wire mesh slings are workhorses in some of the harshest lifting environments — foundries, steel mills, and metalworking facilities where heat, abrasion, and rough handling are daily realities. Amick is one of the few facilities in the country offering professional wire mesh sling repair, inspection, and recertification.
Repair services include replacement of damaged mesh sections, end fitting repair and replacement, and complete load testing and recertification after repair. Per ASME B30.9, any single broken wire in a mesh sling body is cause for removal from service — but a qualified repair can restore the sling to full rated capacity, making repair a cost-effective alternative to replacement for slings with repairable damage.
Any Manufacturer. Any Brand.
Across all four repair services, Amick works on equipment from any manufacturer — not just equipment sold by Amick. If it's a chain sling, lifting clamp, hoist, or wire mesh sling that needs inspection, repair, or recertification, the brand on the label doesn't matter.
