Rigging Safety and Training
Amick's Sling Safety Seminars — Planning a Safe Lift — are designed to equip your team with the knowledge and best practices needed for safe, efficient, and compliant lifting operations. Our seminars are taught by certified Level III Rigging Gear Inspectors and Instructors who bring real-world rigging experience to every session.
Training covers critical topics including sling selection and inspection, rigging hardware identification and proper use, hitch types and sling angle effects, load weight estimation, lift planning fundamentals, and OSHA/ASME compliance requirements. The goal is practical, job-applicable knowledge — not just theory.
OSHA requires that sling users be trained in selection, inspection, cautions to personnel, effects of the environment, and rigging practices per ASME B30.9. ASME B30.20 and B30.26 establish similar training requirements for below-the-hook devices and rigging hardware. Amick's training programs are designed to meet and exceed these requirements.
Seminars can be conducted at your facility, tailored to your specific equipment and operations. Whether you need to train new riggers, refresh experienced operators, or build a comprehensive safety program, Amick provides the expertise and instruction to elevate your team's rigging competence.
