Chain Sling Repair
Amick provides a cost-effective solution for repairing damaged chain sling assemblies — extending the life of your equipment while ensuring safety, compliance, and full rated performance. Every chain sling repair includes a comprehensive inspection and a 2:1 proof test to verify strength and reliability before returning to service.
We perform welded and mechanical repairs on alloy chain sling assemblies from any manufacturer — not just slings purchased from Amick. Our precision heat treating process treats individual welds and links rather than batch treating the entire assembly, preserving the integrity of undamaged components and enabling unlimited repairs over the sling's service life. This is a key differentiator — traditional batch heat treating reprocesses the entire chain, which can degrade material properties over time and limit how many times a sling can be repaired.
Common chain sling repairs include replacement of stretched, bent, twisted, or cracked links, replacement of worn or damaged hooks and fittings, and repair of welded coupling links. All repairs are performed in accordance with ASME B30.9 requirements and use components matched to the chain grade (Grade 80 or Grade 100).
Once restored, your chain slings leave our Pittsburgh facility performing like new — proof tested, documented, and ready for service.
