Growing from a Single Innovation
ARCR started with a single innovation in 1998 — the first Wheel Restraint Tether for NASCAR — and grew into one of the world's largest manufacturers of vehicle component restraints. Today, Amick's racing division supplies tethers and safety systems across the full spectrum of American motorsport. ARCR products are running on race weekends coast to coast, year-round.
NASCAR — Supplier Since 1999
Amick's relationship with NASCAR began in 1998, when we engineered the first Wheel Restraint Tether — a breakthrough that set a new standard for modern motorsport safety and remains the foundation of vehicle component restraint systems in racing today. Since 1999, ARCR has supplied NASCAR with a full range of vehicle component tethers, including wheel/spindle, hood, deck, flap, camera, and front and rear droop tethers. ARCR was also certified to SFI 55.1 tethers and assisted in developing the SFI specifications for certifying tether products for NASCAR.
INDYCAR — OEM Supplier Since 2005
Through Dallara USA — the official chassis supplier to INDYCAR — ARCR has been an OEM supplier of S.W.E.M.S. (Suspension Wheel Energy Management System) and Under Wing Floor Stays since 2005. When INDYCAR cars take to the track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and other venues across the series, ARCR components are part of the safety system.
NHRA — Built for Speeds Beyond 330 MPH
At the top of NHRA drag racing, cars exceed 330 mph in Top Fuel and Funny Car classes — conditions that demand the highest-performance restraint materials available. ARCR's burst panel tethers use Vectran fiber with Kevlar protective jackets. Our parachute tethers use PBO Zylon with dedicated heat protection systems, delivering the thermal performance and reliability required by nitromethane-fueled racing. ARCR's NHRA tether products are distributed through McKinney Corp. and C&R Racing.
Sprint Car — Required by the World of Outlaws
For the World Racing Group's Sprint Car programs, ARCR partnered with C&R Racing in Indianapolis to develop and distribute the strongest and safest solid axle tether system ever built. The Front Solid Axle Tether System — combining Radius Rod Tethers and King Pin Tethers — is required by the World of Outlaws and used at Knoxville and other tracks across the country. Amick recently collaborated with USAC on the Tri-Spool Tether update to the Sprint Car King Pin Tether Restraint system.
Monster Truck — OEM Distributor for Feld Motor Sports
For monster truck racing, ARCR is the OEM distributor for Feld Motor Sports, supplying hub and gearbox tethers to keep the world's biggest race vehicles under control.
Beyond the Racetrack
ARCR's safety innovations extend beyond the vehicles themselves. Working with the late Steve Peterson, ARCR developed the first synthetic Safer Wall anchor strap — used at NASCAR and INDYCAR tracks across the country to improve barrier safety at racing facilities nationwide. Amick's marine division also supplies tethers and safety solutions for personal watercraft and on-water race teams.
Every Weekend, Somewhere in America
When the green flag drops on a race anywhere in America — whether it's on a NASCAR superspeedway, an INDYCAR road course, an NHRA quarter-mile, a Sprint Car dirt oval, or a Monster Truck arena — ARCR tethers, straps, and restraint systems are on the vehicles, on the barriers, and on the track. Built in America. Trusted by the fastest racing series in the world.
