Tandem Two Hoist Beams
Tandem Two Hoist Beams are engineered for lifting operations that require two cranes or hoists working together to handle a single load. These beams are designed to distribute the load between two hoisting points, enabling the safe lifting and positioning of long, heavy, or oversized loads that exceed the capacity or reach of a single crane.
Tandem lifting introduces unique engineering challenges — including load sharing, synchronization, and dynamic force management — that require purpose-built equipment. Tandem beams are designed to accommodate these forces and provide stable, controlled lifting even when the two hoisting points are not perfectly synchronized.
All tandem beams supplied by Amick are designed in accordance with ASME BTH-1 and comply with ASME B30.20 requirements. Each beam is proof tested at 125% of rated capacity.
Engineered for the biggest lifts — tandem beams for dual-crane operations. Call 412-429-1212.
Type
Dual-point lifting beams for tandem crane/hoist operations.
Applications
Heavy industrial lifting, steel erection, bridge construction, power generation, petrochemical, and plant maintenance operations involving long, heavy, or oversized loads that require two cranes or hoists for safe handling.
Exceptions
Tandem lifting operations require careful lift planning, load analysis, and coordination between crane operators. Ensure both cranes/hoists are properly rated and that the tandem beam is rated for the full load. Do not attempt tandem lifts without a qualified lift plan. Inspect per ASME B30.20 before each use.
