Welded Chain & Assemblies
Welded Chain and Assemblies are chain products where links and connections are permanently joined by welding, creating a continuous, integrated chain assembly. Amick fabricates welded chain assemblies at our Pittsburgh facility using a precise heat treating method that processes individual welds and links rather than batch treating the entire assembly.
This individual heat treating approach is a key differentiator. Traditional batch heat treating reprocesses the entire chain — including components that don't need it — which can degrade material properties over time and limit the number of repairs a sling can undergo. Amick's method treats only the affected welds and links, preserving the integrity of the rest of the assembly and enabling unlimited repairs over the sling's service life.
Every welded chain assembly is proof tested before leaving our facility — whether it's a new fabrication or a repair. This ensures that every assembly meets rated capacity requirements and is ready for safe service.
Precision heat treating for unlimited repairs — welded chain assemblies proof tested in Pittsburgh. Call 412-429-1212. Amick Associates was CM's first repair station set up back in the sixties. Amick can repair any make, manufacture or type of alloy chain sling assembly. All slings are repaired, heat treated, proof tested, and final inspected before shipping.
Type
Welded alloy chain assemblies.
Applications
Overhead lifting sling assemblies, custom chain fabrication for industrial applications, and any application requiring permanently welded chain connections. Used across manufacturing, construction, steel processing, and heavy industry.
Exceptions
Only alloy chain (Grade 80 or higher) should be used in welded assemblies for overhead lifting. All welds must be performed by qualified personnel using approved procedures. Welded assemblies must be proof tested before being placed into service. Inspect welds for cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion. Annual periodic inspections required per ASME B30.9.
