Steel Handling Systems

Steel Handling Systems are engineered overhead rail and workstation crane solutions built from structural steel components. These systems provide defined load paths through a facility, enabling efficient, repeatable material handling along production lines, assembly areas, and shipping zones.

Steel rail systems offer high load capacity and long span capability, making them suitable for heavy industrial applications where loads, spans, or duty cycles exceed the limits of lighter aluminum systems. The structural steel construction provides rigidity and durability for demanding, high-frequency operations.

Systems can be configured as single-rail monorails for linear material flow, or as full workstation bridge crane systems with cross-travel for coverage across a defined work area. Hoists, trolleys, and end effectors are selected and integrated based on the specific application requirements.

Applications

Manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, warehousing, and shipping operations. Used wherever loads need to be moved along defined paths through a facility — including production line feeding, workstation-to-workstation transfer, and loading/unloading operations. Preferred for heavy loads and high-frequency duty cycles.

Exceptions

Steel handling systems must be designed, installed, and inspected per ASME B30.11 (monorails and underhung cranes) and applicable building codes. The supporting structure must be engineered to handle the imposed loads. Regular inspection of track, connections, trolleys, and end stops is required. Do not exceed the rated capacity of any component in the system.
