Hoist Trolleys

Hoist Trolleys are the wheeled carriages that allow a hoist to travel along an overhead beam, monorail rail, or crane girder. They provide the horizontal mobility that turns a stationary hoist into a flexible material handling system — enabling the operator to move loads along the length of a beam or rail.

Trolleys are available in two primary types: push trolleys, which are moved by hand along the beam, and motorized trolleys, which use an electric motor to drive the trolley along the rail under powered control. Push trolleys are economical and effective for lighter loads and shorter travel distances. Motorized trolleys are preferred for heavier loads, longer travel distances, and applications where powered movement improves productivity and operator ergonomics.

Both types must be matched to the beam or rail profile — trolley wheel width, flange clearance, and capacity must be compatible with the specific beam size. An improperly fitted trolley can derail, bind, or impose unintended loads on the supporting structure.

Amick stocks trolleys from all major manufacturers and can match the right trolley to your beam profile and hoist configuration.

The right trolley for your beam — motorized and push, stocked in Pittsburgh. Call 412-429-1212.

Type

Push trolleys and motorized trolleys for I-beam and monorail applications.

Applications

Overhead crane systems, monorail lines, jib cranes, and any overhead beam installation where horizontal hoist travel is required. Used across manufacturing, plant maintenance, warehousing, construction, and assembly operations.

Exceptions

Trolley must be matched to the beam profile — verify flange width compatibility before installation. Do not exceed rated capacity. Inspect wheels, axles, side plates, and bumpers per ASME B30.11 and B30.16. Ensure the beam and supporting structure are rated for the combined weight of the trolley, hoist, and maximum load. Install end stops to prevent the trolley from traveling off the end of the beam.
