Aluminum Fixed Head Tools

Aluminum Fixed Head Tools are the workhorse of the Amick no-touch tool line — lightweight aluminum shaft construction with a permanently welded steel head, built for crews who need a durable positioning tool that's easier to handle than steel and more rugged than wood. The aluminum shaft cuts overall tool weight significantly without sacrificing the strength required for industrial positioning work, making these tools the right choice for long shifts, overhead work, and applications where operator fatigue is a real factor.

The "fixed head" designation means the head is welded directly to the shaft and cannot be swapped out. That permanence is a feature, not a limitation — there are no threaded connections to loosen, no removable components to lose, and no inspection points to fail. For applications where a worker reaches for the same tool day after day for the same kind of work, a fixed head configuration is the simpler, stronger, longer-lived option.

Aluminum Fixed Head Tools are available with every head type in the Amick catalog: Shepherd Staff, C, J, S, M, and Double C. Each head matches a specific contact scenario — Shepherd for direct load contact, C and S for contact with sling mediums and rigging hardware, J for quick pull engagement, M for specialized positioning, and Double C for two-point control. Standard lengths run 18-inch, 2-foot, 3-foot, 4-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot, covering everything from close-in positioning to longer-reach overhead work that keeps operators well clear of suspended loads.

Like every Amick no-touch tool, aluminum fixed head tools are positioning and guidance equipment — not lifting devices. They extend the worker's reach so a load can be steered, steadied, and aligned without anyone putting hands on it. When the standard configuration doesn't fit the application, our team builds custom lengths, custom head profiles, and custom combinations to match your work.

Type

Aluminum shaft construction with permanently welded head. Available with an assortment of durable heads. Standard lengths of 18-inch, 2-foot, 3-foot, 4-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot. Custom shaft lengths and head configurations available.

Applications

Industrial material handling, overhead lifting support, plant maintenance, construction, steel mills, oil and gas operations, power generation, motorsports, and any positioning work where reduced tool weight matters over a long shift. Particularly well suited to overhead applications where holding a steel tool at extended reach would tire an operator quickly.
