PolyFlex Round Slings
PolyFlex Round Slings are Amick's standard polyester round slings, constructed from continuous loops of load-bearing polyester yarn encased in a protective woven polyester jacket. The result is a sling that is exceptionally supple and conforms readily to uneven and irregularly shaped loads during a lift.
The soft polyester jacket protects finished, painted, or delicate surfaces from scratching and marring — making PolyFlex slings a preferred alternative to wire rope or chain in applications where load protection is a priority. The endless design allows the sling to be rotated between uses, distributing wear across the entire body for extended service life.
PolyFlex round slings stretch approximately 3–5% at rated capacity, providing enough elongation to absorb minor dynamic forces while maintaining tighter load control than nylon. Polyester does not lose strength when wet and offers good resistance to most common acids, bleaching agents, and industrial chemicals.

Type
Endless polyester round slings. Polyester load-bearing core with protective polyester jacket.
Applications
Vertical hitches, choker hitches, and basket hitches. Ideal for lifting finished, polished, or delicate loads where surface protection is essential. Used across manufacturing, plant maintenance, mechanical installation, construction, and marine operations. The flexible, conforming body makes PolyFlex slings well suited for irregularly shaped loads where a flat web sling might not provide adequate grip.
Exceptions
Not recommended for use in environments where temperatures exceed 194°F (90°C) or fall below -40°F (-40°C). Polyester round slings are susceptible to damage from strong alkalis and concentrated sulfuric acid. Do not use on loads with sharp edges or corners without proper sling protection — per ASME B30.9, slings in contact with edges, corners, or protrusions shall be protected with material of sufficient strength and thickness to prevent damage. Remove from service immediately if the outer jacket is cut and inner core fibers are exposed. Do not tie knots in a round sling to shorten it — knots significantly reduce breaking strength.
