Web Shackles and Fittings

Web Shackles and Fittings are hardware components designed specifically for use with synthetic web slings and round slings. Unlike standard rigging shackles built for wire rope and chain, web shackles feature wider pin openings and rounded body profiles that accommodate the flat, wide shape of webbing without pinching, bunching, or creating concentrated stress points that can damage the sling.

Using the right hardware is critical for getting full performance and service life from your synthetic slings. Standard narrow-body shackles can fold or crease webbing at the connection point, reducing sling capacity and accelerating wear. Purpose-built web shackles eliminate this problem by providing a proper bearing surface for flat webbing.

Applications

Any rigging application using synthetic web slings or round slings where a hardware connection to hooks, master links, or other rigging components is required. Essential for multi-leg bridle assemblies, basket hitch configurations, and any lift where the sling must connect to standard rigging hardware without damage to the webbing.

Exceptions

Always match shackle capacity to the sling's working load limit — the assembly is only as strong as its weakest component. Inspect shackles for cracks, distortion, excessive wear, and pin condition before each use. Do not use carbon steel shackles in corrosive environments — select alloy or stainless alternatives. Follow ASME B30.26 for rigging hardware inspection and removal criteria.
