Funny Car Burst Panel and Parachute Tethers

ARCR manufactures high-performance burst panel and parachute tethers for NHRA professional drag racing — applications where material performance at extreme temperatures and speeds is non-negotiable.

Our JF-101 and MM-101 burst panel tethers are constructed from Vectran fiber with Kevlar protective jackets, providing exceptional strength and heat resistance in the intense thermal environment created by nitromethane-fueled engines. These tethers retain body panels during burst events, preventing separated panels from becoming hazards to the driver, adjacent competitors, and track personnel.

The PARA-101 REV 3 parachute tethers use PBO Zylon fiber with a dedicated heat protection kit, delivering superior thermal performance under the extreme conditions experienced during parachute deployment at speeds exceeding 330 mph. Reliable parachute retention is critical — a lost parachute at the end of a Top Fuel or Funny Car run leaves the driver with significantly reduced stopping capability.
